    MY 2 newest additions

I haven't collected much in the 3 reich arena, but a friend of mine (I dated his daughter once) father was on Scharnhorst. I'm collecting all of his awards from the Urkunde he has.

Great badges, tasty HSF. What a good way to kick off a collection.

Actually the original awards went down with Scharnhorst. My friend has only the Urkunden and photos as memories. He made me copies (I hope to get the originals someday, since I know the 2 daughters have zero interest). He was awarded the EK 2, based on the Urkunde date it was most likely for the shelling of Spitzbergen. KVK 2X and Wehrmacht 4 year. The two main and interesting pieces are the Blockade badge and Fleet badge. The fleet badge came posthumious, the Blockade is date closer to the date that Tirpitz and Scharnhorst broke out to Norway. I was hoping it was for the channel dash, but his dad was at home in Wilhelmshaven getting married on Feb2. He would have had to make it back to Brest befor the Feb 13 deployment. Possible, but not certain.

So my quest is to collect originals of all his awards for a project I'm making on Scharnhorst. The fleet badge is near mint. Its shiney perfection doesn't over in the scan too well.

          Cheers

              Pix of the Urkunden?

Do you have pix of the Urkunden to post? Those would be interesting!
