    CCC in silver need help

    Hi guys,

a mate from an other forum needs help about this clasp. To me it looks a fake based on a S&L, I don't like the finish and the pin, but he thinks it might be an original clasp with replaced pin.
    What is your opinion?
    Thanks!

Its not looking too good, finish seems to be off , looks to be the wrong set-up on the back too.

            Hi Hans,

I agree that something just isnt' right with this one. The details indeed look soft and reverse hardware is not correct for an S&L. The finish looks really thick on it, so I wonder if it might be an original, that has had new hardware applied to it and a new thick, silver finish. Either that, or its a flat out, cast fake. Either way, I wouldn't touch this one.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                Hi Hans

I do not have tme to get "Toms" bible out, but from a general viewpoint there are many pits in this badge, eagles chest and on the right of the badge are a couple, plus plenty on the reverse.
Also finish looks to be applied at a later time to manufacture, the pin scrape mark near the catch and the big dent above the hinge both seem to be clearly finished.

                regards
                Graeme

                  .

In my opinion this badge is 100% fake. I am not a expert, but this ccc look all wrong, not just the pin. I would not touch it.
