          ......

Photos don't do this one justice. I have to get a new camera with better macro capability, I guess.

Nice one Mike. I don't think it's the camera, most times the issue is with the lighting. Fluorescent or natural light light bulbs work well for me

                Hi Mike,

Another excellent addition. Like Chad says, work on the lighting and also try a pure black or pure white background, that always helps.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                  Camera

                  Tom and Chad,

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually, I have been using my Casio Exilim for many years to shoot photos of my stuff and post here. I have had excellent results with it -- I guess I was impatient with these photos -- and as you said, lighting is everything.

For my own reasons, I have always liked the red background. Sort of a trademark. But I will try other colors and see how it works.

                  Mike

                        More photos

Did some more work with the camera this morning ... still working on better images.

I can't see any problem with these pictures, this badge is a true beauty.

                            Another ...

Here is another shot -- with completely different lighting, background, and so on.

What I cannot capture is the beautiful, shiny silver highlights of this badge. No matter what I do, it is not as good in the images as it is in hand.

But this is about all I have time for now ...

Best regards to all and thanks for the comments,

                            Mike

                              Very nice!

                              My favourite design in tombak!

It is sometimes hard to capture some of the fine details, like that polished finish swastika.

                              Cheers and thanks for sharing,
                              Felix
