    Hi Ed,

    Thanks for posting these close-ups.

    As far as I'm concerned the first picture adds a lot to the credibility of this PAB and possibily even links the marked Zimmermann to the unmarked SC Zimmermann's.

    Just take a look at this thread where Jan posted a very uncommon hinge variant on one of his sc Zimmermann's

    It's not the little block hinge that I had expected to see but looks more like a custom made smaller version of the hinge seen on Jan's badge.

        I will get a good picture of the obverse but it may take a day or two. This badge was die forged and there is evidence of hand filing all around the edges. The eagles beak has an unusual shape due to this hand filing. The need to hand finish each piece would be very unproductive and may explain the reason why this design was never massed produced. Also notice the lines running horizontal on the reverse. Perhaps from a die that was starting to crack? Ed Maroli
