My Little CCC Collection - FLL

    Hi guys!
Finally filled in the last piece of my little FLL CCC collection. I used Tom's great book so hopefully I didn't make any mistakes
The CCCiG has a bit of gold finish on the obverse & reverse and the CCCiB doesn't have much left. The CCCiS may have had the hindge & clasp repaired at some point????
    Sorry for the lousy pics!
All thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated!!

Sorry but I think you have 2 bronze grades there- even with the finish gone from the zinc I would expect bright gold left on the setup and solder- the pin looks like slightly polished brass from these pictures and not gilt finished,

Thanks Patrick, here's a better pic. I bought it on Estand from one of our experts so I hope it's gold.
      Maybe this angle will help?
      Thanks again!

heres what I would expect a badge in similar condition to look like- obviously these are different makers

FLL used a highly polished brass backplate on some bronze badges and also the darker one- I can only see bronze remains on your clasp. Gold will REALLY stand out as being gold. A lighter bronze will often be confused with gold on CCCs this is also frequently mistaken on SA sports badges of hich the gold grade is really hard to find.

I am sorry, but I would say bronze also.

I can't see the gold finish, but only a faded bronze.

I can't see the gold finish, IMO a very worn bronze grade.I would like to hear Tom's opinion.

Sorry but I also have to agree with Patrick on the CCC. You see much of the bronze finish on the 'dieper' parts like between the rings around the grenade, and other spots that have never been touched before.

Thanks guys! I too would like Tom to take a peek. The only thing I can say is that in hand, on the obverse there certainly "what looks like" gold finish vs bronze finish. I've had a few CCCiBs in hand and to my bad eyes this one looks more gold. But as pointed out, there could be other characteristics of the badge that lend it to being bronze vs gold. You folks are the experts, not I, so I will certainly pay very close attention to all the thought/opinions/help!
                  Appreciate it!

                    Hi Gregg,

I do hope you are right but I don't hope that you payed to much for it being 'supposedly' a gold type.

Thanks Dirk! Wasn't a crazy price, but certainly more than a bronze

Greg - Here is my FLL in Gold and what they look like when the finish fades away. I sent it to Tom for review.

Hi Jay - No new photos unfortunately, it's secured away from me at this time. From my link to WAF above, here are photos from posts 10 and 11 that were taken by the seller before I purchased the CCC's.

That was the point of my linked the thread, was to find out if the CCC stood a chance to be a Gold CCC based on seller's photos. I purchased one of each grade in that buy. Got an unusual CCC in Silver as you can see and a killer blued plate in Bronze.

Looks like I photographed from the reverse after I bought it and Tom scanned the reverse after he did a hands on inspection.
