Opinion on this Assmann GAB please

I know theese have been discussed before, and I have read every thread I could find, but I still don´t know if this is good or bad.

    Hi

I am not too keen on this one. It just looks different from the crisp clear details normally seen on these. Soft details to the front and not sure about the shape of the pin bend at the hinge.
For me it just does not look right, but on the plus side the hinge and catch from the pics shown look ok.
Can you post side shots of the hinge and catch area? And a pic of the reverse with the pin up.

    regards
    Graeme

I would err on the side of caution on this one. I'm not 100% convinced either way, so not sure exactly

Imo a 100% Staegemeir fake. Here is the same fake to compare:

Thanks for your replies. Here are a couple of closeups. The medal does feel ok, and seems to have the right size, not undersized as some copies are.

I don't like it too, IMO a fake.

I compared this badge with an "A3" example I have owned for many years. I agree the details are soft. Also I don't like the color of the metal finish or the pin.

                Caveat emptor.

I have already bought this one together with a small lot of other medals, of which some are fakes and some are originals. Luckily I did get a refund for the bad, or suspected bad ones and only paid for the verified good ones.

I´m still interested in getting to the bottom of this one though, although it does look a lot like the other bad one posted in this thread.

It would be great if someone could post some good photos of an original Assmann number 3 so that I have something to compare with.

Regarding the colour of the medal it might be a bit misleading, I took the picture in daylight on a white background but it did get a bit blueish.
