    Sdkfz 222 Badge

    Hello,

Didn't know where to post this one, so here it is: a Sdkfz 222. Does anybody know this one. It looks like brass but with a silver wash. Size is like a Wound Bagde.

If anything, I would call it a tinnie.
Odd looking pin though., replaced or perhaps not German?

I've always thought it could be an unofficial insignia for a Recce unit. Pin seems original to the piece. It is very nicely made, with much detail. What other country could have made it? I believe SdKfz 222 was only used in the German Army...

              Hello there,

I doubt this was produced during the war. Maybe it is more of a commemorative piece, still interesting though.

That model of pin is quite common all around. It's an old model though. These are german sets of safety pins for verbandkasten:

hi all, I picked up this thread because I 'm also looking for information about this lbadge .I have two, one needle and one to be sewn on the uniform. one buys it with other badges of the Spanish civil war in a flea market . The needle at an auction of Spanish military items also . Could be a badge of the Legion Còndor ?

Maybe a badge from the Winterhilfswerk?

Hi Daniel i'dont think it's the Winterhilfswerk . not part of any known series , the catch is very rudimentary compared to those of Winterhilfswerk . All I've seen have come out in spain and with other badges and medals of spanish civil war, so I think it was something related to the Condor Legion .
                          Thanks
                          Eduard
