    CCC in Gold by FLL

    Hi:

Joseph D'Errico said that this piece should be discussed in this forum. I do not know what issue he has with the piece but I am open to enlightment. Thanks...

    Textbook FLL.

    Joe, your concerns?

I agree with Frank that it is an original FLL clasp but due to the lighting in the pictures it is very difficult to tell what grade the clasp is. The finish is washed out by the flash.

        Hi,
I agree with Frank, the reverse looks IMO like an original FLL CCC.

There is some wear to the eagle's chest as well as the high points of the grenade....

Its an original FLL clasp. Gold wash looks a little dull for an FLL, but a good clasp, definately.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Hi Tom, the gold wash is actually pretty bright, it is hard to bring it out in the pix...ie it does not have that dull muted/absorbed look that you see on a lot of late war pieces, Steven

                            Hello Steven,

Sorry for the late response, I was out for the day.

I was concerned on the finish, I know from my own experiences that gold colored pieces can be difficult to take pics of and display their natural finish.

Thank you for posting the piece as well a close ups.

                            Best,
                            JD
