    Army Flak Badges

Where flak badges cast or stamped? Is 42 a valid mark on these badges? Does a metalic oder on your fingers after handling a badge an indication that it was post war made? I have a badge that fits this description which I believe is cast. I will post pics if needed.

    Thank You.

      Hi Dan,

Pics are needed. I cannot think of an original Flak that was stamped with a "42" on it, but new stuff can still pop up that no one has ever seen before. However, in all likelihood it is a reproduction, but lets see some pics first before condemning it.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                  Another flak badge

This badge appears to be made of brass or some related metal. It is unmarked.

Thank you Mark. It's tough to learn that you've not only been screwed once but twice. These are old Ebay purchases.

Buy the book and educate yourself! You will not make the same mistake when you know what to look for. Sorry for the hard lesson...
