If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Yep, with absolutely NO mention of it being replaced. So it is being sold as an original and some young collector will be fooled because he is not paying close enough attention. Modifying badges like this is a level of fakery and I have absolutely not respect for those that do it.

It is an original badge, but the swastika is replaced. It was denazified, but someone has since taken it and made a new (fake) swastika and affixed it to the badge. The clasp is worthless now in my opinion, I wouldn't touch it.

                          Hi Maxim,

Yes, there are plenty of signs. Just look at the nasty feet! They are made as part of the swastika and moulded to look like feet, but VERY sloppy compared to originals. Also notice that the bottom part of the swastika is NOT attached to the grenade and bayonet. It is completely detached, unlike originals which are completely connected. The FAKE swastika was trimmed to fit this area, and was likely soldered at this location. If you would care to take the backplate out of the claps, you will see that there will be some obvious soldering points in this area.

Jimmy, no one said that it was hard to make a fake swastika. Infact, its pretty easy. Anyone with half a brain and the correct tools could make it. But that doesn't mean you should do this, and in my opinion it is a level of fakery. I would have no problem with it IF the seller would mention it in their sales descrption. But the fact is that they don't, and herein lies the problem. The ONLY reason someone wants to re-nazify a badge is to increase its value and then they "forget" to mention it in the sales description in the hopes that the buyer will not notice the fake swastika until AFTER the 7 day review period is up. After that its too late and I know several collectors that have been burned this way. It is a level of fakery that I find inexcusable. Anyone that does this and tries to fool collectors is a burden on this hobby.
