    Sniper Badge

I just obtained this Sniper Badge. It is of the type Detlev Niemann shows in his catalog.

Does anyone have information on this type without the green border and on field quality wool?

IMO, a fake that Detlev propagated as authentic. Badges of the pictured type above have been discussed before, as well as floating around on eBay.de

The materials and pattern are much different than accepted originals with good provenance.

Thank you all, but I do not see any similarity in the badge I posted or in any of the discussions from the link. There is no two-tone colors, in the leaves, ala the reproductions, and, the beak is not similar. In fact, ithe embroidery appears to be identical to my recognized originals, other than the lack of green border and the feldgrau background material.

Bob, imo that is where the problem comes in. Jacques

                but

and its a big but, all these original badges, look different,

in the detail around the eagle, the leaves.

Shouldn't all the badges display the same characteristics?

Are there any books that show genuine badges?

I do want to learn as much about these badges as possible.
