    Close combat clasp by Gablonz

    Hi Guys,

I was hoping that somebody could help me with the following request. I have a silver CCB made by FEC. W.E. Peekhaus Berlin AUSF.A.G.M.u.K Gablonz and i was hoping that somebody could tell me whether these were being exstensively Faked and if yes,
    what to look for?????

Maybe somebody could send me a picture or two of an original and a copy to compare. Unfortunately i do not have the means to post a picture myself. My e-mail is druppert@global.co.za
This would be greatly appreciated as i have to pay a considerable amount for this clasp and obviously dont want to be taken for a ride.

    cheers,
    Dion

Hi Dion, yes this maker has been faked...but so has almost every maker of every badge out there. The MuKs come in 2 varieties. The one pictured here, and another style with a non-fluted pin, slightly larger and different lettering and a slightly different catch

            Hi Andy and Ivan,

Thanks guys for taking the time to answer. Excellent pictures
and good detailing, Thanks. My CCB is identical to Ivans, with the fluted pin and the detailing is also exactly the same.

Guys, you have just made a man in South Africa very happy as I can now say with certainty that mine is original.
Ivan, i wish i could make detailed pics to send you, but unfortunately my digital camera does`nt make very good closeup photos!! moremad

Once again my thanks to the two of you.

            Best regards,
            Dion

              Hi Andy,

I was comparing your clasp with Ivan`s and noticed that yours does`nt have the two chisel marks under and above the backing plate? Does this donate the difference in the Manufacturing years or what is the meaning of this????

              Cheers,
              Dion

                Hi Dion,

                Just a sidenote:
The name of your thread sounds like you are not aware that GABLONZ is the CITY where the maker resided. It is not part of the maker´s name. Just in case you didn´t know and were interested.

                Cheers, Frank H.
                Cheers, Frank

My reverse is totally different to the above, especially the attachment of the backplate

                        Hi,

sorry but I don't understend what do you mean with"to reblue it in place", it's too hard English for me. Please said with words more easly ( I'm italian) and I will be happy to answer to you.

Maybe you mean the bluish colour of the plate inside?

You know, the remaining bluish makes more prestigious the badge and the silver finish of this tombak's badge is describted in Detlev's expertise "very nice quality".

                        Waiting, Regards

                        Ivan

IVAN, where in my question to you did I say anything about the silver finish on your ccc. I wish my silver ccc had as nice a finish. What I asked about was the finish on the steel plate. Compare yours with Graigs and Dions and tell me theres not something odd about the finish from the front view it's very fussy around the edges or is it just the scan?
                          Regards.......jnoble

was that easy enough for you to understand.

                            Thanks Jnoble,

no, the plate's edges are goods but is a bit dirty inside ( I must clean it but normally never a clean a badge), is a scan effect.

                            Regards
