    CCCs gold and silver

    Hi Guys

Would appreciate some comments on these 2. First is a F&BL with the back plate missing- certainly looks gold to my eyes as I am used to seeing a much darker finish on bronze clasps by this maker- what do you think?

2nd up is a 6 dot which is a bit unusual- only finished in silver on the front but this doesn't look modern. I know these are real late war clasps but has anyone seen one with the one side finished or is this just a refinished bronze (back plate shows no signs of having been out)

    Thanks in advance

    Patrick

          Patrick,

          Those appear to be originals...

As for the finish though...I am not too sure but they look okay to me. But I am not all that educated in the finish field.

          Regards,
          Chris

Looks like two original clasps to me!

              Hi Patrick,

can you show a close-up picture of the side of the Gold CCC (the untouched lower parts) showing the original gilding.

This one is just like the one I owned years back and does look okay to me but a close-up of the fire gilding would really help to be more certain.

Both CCC`s are originals from the pics imo.
The 6-dot is without any doubt, the F&BL one
without the backplate looks goldish for me, too.
But for me every CCC with missing backplate let`s
ring the alarm bells. Everything is possible than and it`s
no problem to pimp up the finish of a badge when the backplate
is missing! -> Only my opinion!!!

Thanks guys- I will get some more photos of the gold clasp- the finish is darker than I have seen on other original golds but is no where near bronze. The 6 dot is a real mystery to me- has any one got one that is finished on one side like this- it really does look very good??

I am interested in buying the gold one.
The badge as such is original but is it really a GOLDEN one. ???

I would appreciate the opinions of the experts.

                        Hi,
imo i'd say refinished ,not original gold ones.

I say two original CCC clasp not a problem but i am not sure about the finish on the gold one so better pictures needed on that one.
Try to take some pictures in daylight

                              Hi,
I know it's not by the same maker but here's my known original one, against a bronze one.
