    CCC in Silver S&L , need advice

    Hi guys,

    just found this CCC full banjo style pin, which is look to be Steinhauer & Luck 1.16.3. in Thomas book.
    but 1 thing about the obverse they were well detailed which on this one is not
    So I would need help on this one good or not.

      Hi Peter,

      You are right about S&L's being very nicely detailed. The fact that this one isn't raises a red flag. This could be a refinished badge, which will take away the details or might even be just a total reproduction. Both the hinge and catch don't really match S&L's, so I would lean towards this being a reproduction. Can you provide some dimensions for comparison to originals?

      If you are looking to buy this one, I would suggest waiting for a more textbook example to come along. If you already own it, lets get some measurements and some more closeups of the obverse and hardware to do some more comparisons for you.

          Hi Tom,

          Thank you very much for answer,well I can not provide dimensions of this because I don't own it just found this on the auction and you right I still looking for silver CCC .
          I m very carefull before I buy this and rather send pic's here for compare.
          I'll rather wait for nice textbook as you say than to be ripped off wit some bad CCC!
