    Infantry Assault Badge Question

    Dear Friends,

I read over the section on the site covering Heer and SS war badges in an effort to understand what kind of qualification badge would be awarded to Recon troops (those wearing the yellow/gold waffenfarbe) in either the SS or the regular army.

For example, the seciton of the site dealing with this topic describes the silver version as being awarded to members of "foot infantry" formations, while the bronze version went to members in "motorized infantry" formations. That is all and good, but I am a bit confused as to which of the two badges would go to a member of, for example, a motorized recon platoon that was part of a regular foot infantry division or regiment. Since their parant formation is regular foot infantry, did that mean that they too received the silver version, or, did they receive the bronze version because they used armored cars and were therfore motorized themselves?

Further, which of the two badges would be awarded to motorcycle Recon troops?

Similarly, what about those members of Feldgenarmerie detatchments that qualified for a qualification badge...which one would they be given?

Any help on this question would be most appreciated.

    Cheers,

    A.
