Have a look at the pin on fishers example, any pin will bend if you aply enough pressure. If your not happy with it i'll be happy to take it off your hands.
Regards Jordan
I was not on about the pin bending but the badge propper.
Heap of junk imo.

Here is another Vienna example with the same hardware as yours.
As you can see this one has a crack at the recess of the rifle. These recesses in the reverse of the badge are IMO weak points. These examples are delicate and with the slightest pressure will break very easily.
They are your badges and you can do what you like to them but I would advise against this "bending test" of yours.Attached Files

fischer i respect your opinion and thank you for your posts.
My badge in question is ruined ie broke at the weak points as you have described.
If it was an original which i still doubt, then its my loss as you say.
The bend test is a basic test which most original badges withstand even zinc in my experiance.

Naga, I would update your reading material the beadle book isnt a great reference, There was absolutely nothing wrong with that IAB until you broke it. If you apply enough pressure any zinc badge will break it proves nothing. the bend test went out of the window when fakes stopped being made out of lead!

Ok all your comments well appreciated.
As for reference material i have just sold a load because i think most but not all are just catalogs to say to the novice this is haw it should be.
My latest book is the war merit cross which at last an in depth study.
As for most books on awards until recently are a load of junk.
Christopher ailsby books all sold and i don't rate them anymore. All out of date and they do not keep up with the modern fakery.
