    GAB 50 Mini

    Hi

Iam on holiday and do not have The Frank Book.

Surprisingly the search function does not turn any of these up.

Anyone have one on file? This one is MMd L/16.

Just a couple of points on the pin. Its not exactly like Franks...there are a few differences.

            1) the knurling on the pin is different than the "50" in Frank's book.

            2) the mm L/16 in Frank's book has the pin attached directly to the badge without a plate (as seen on the one in this thread). Frank's mini is a regular GAB, not a "50" tho. With that in mind, the reverse of Frank's "50" is not shown.

These things don't discount this mini, I just wanted to point out differences. I would like to also take the quote from Frank on this type of mini -
"These are very rare, because of the institution of the grade III GAB in late June 1943, and the omission of the 16mm miniatures in early July 1943, leave a time line of less than a month. Probably, stocks were just sold off but possibly these miniatures never found their way in to stores."
