    Gwl pab

    Hi Guys,

Found this scarce GWL Panzer Assault Badge today at a Show in Wilmington. Never had one like this before. It's kind of gray and ugly looking, but I still like it lots.

    Best regards,
    Tom

Nice one and it even has the catch still intact.

        Regards,

          Hi Tom,

Beatiful find my friend! Their shear rarity makes up for the grey appearance of yours and I would have snapped it up in a second too. The fact that it still has its delicate hinge and catch still in one piece is also remarkable and highly desirable.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Very hard to find so you're lucky that you found one, to bad about the finish but still a beauty, here's mine to compare.

Like Tom says, near impossible to find with those specific GWL hinge and catches in place, so a very good find indeed. The other type of setup has become relativly common since the hoard find last year.

                    Hi guys,

Thanks for all of the comments.

Just the thought of using zinc sheet metal for hinges and catches with ninety-degree bends makes me cringe. Once formed, I bet any additional bending, one way or the other, would break it right off. Looking closely at the catch, you can actually see the stress in the metal at the bend point. I think I am really lucky to have one with the attachment hardware intact.

                    Best regards,
                    Tom
