      Hi

Looks like a nice original badge

But I am not convinced with the stamped marking. That could have been placed at anytime and it certainly is not a crisp clear quality marking..

      congrats

Have there been any TR war badges that were SS stamped that have been authenticated?
          Thanks,
          Greg

            Hi gents,

This very IAB used to be in my collection at one time, so I know it very well. Of course, this SS stamp is absolutely unusual and uncommon. But fact is, and I observed this in detail, that the stamp was applied before the finish was applied. And there is no question that it is a typical JFS finish, we are not looking at a refinished badge.
Therefore, about the reason of the stamp can only be speculated. To some, it will make this IAB not any more desirable than one without that stamp, to others, it will be a very cool extra. The collector decides.

            I always enjoyed it.
            Cheers, Frank

              Hi Gabor,

Nice silver JFS IAB, has some great finish left.

To me, the SS stamp looks like it MIGHT have been placed sometime after production IMO. It looks very weak, and pretty rough around the edges, not something I would expect from something applied at the factory.

I hear what Frank is saying about the finish, but in my opinion the stamp will have finish inside it even if it was stamped in later on. With a weak stamp, the finish will just compress into the grooves of the stamp, but still remain intact.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                  Hi guys,

What's your opinions, how to be a beat on the backside of the badge later or postwar, that no compromised on the frontside of the badge? I can see yet some bubbles on the deep of the edges ( in the circle and in the runess, too ).

                  Please write me yours opinions.

                  Best regards Gabor

Well It's a nice badge for sure and the stamp looks like a wartime job, like Gabor says It's unlikely that the stamp is aplied after '45, you would see some dent ont the back or a bubble on the front because such a stamp had to be made with the use of some force.

Yes Den, my opinion is that too, what you wrote. And the runes are accurate, as you may see an SS document ( I think here, for the thunder SS signs ). The circle and the runes are strong, not like when the soldier subsequently wrote his name the backside of the badge. That's just scratching the surface.

                      regards Gabor

As we can never know for sure if the runes are pre or post war, they are cool extra on an original badge regardless...certainly a conversation piece and with the photograph it is recorded in the forum so if something similar pops up there is a record.

A quality piece I would be happy with
