    CCC on estand

    Hi Guys,

I saw this one on E-stand and want to ask you guys if it's an original one.
I really want to buy it, but I am not an expert and just want to be sure.

I asked the sellers aproval for the discussion.

    Thanks in advance

    Regards

    Hi Bob,

Its an original clasp, but with a replaced pin. This is a 1.2.2 type AGMuK in my CCC book, and typically had a fluted pin. This one has been replaced with a new pin, if you look closely at the mark where the tension foot hits the clasp, there is 2 distinct marks (1 from the original pin and the other from the new pin).

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Thanks Tom but does a replaced pin effect the price and is it still an original pin?

      regards

        Hallo Guys,

First of all Sorry It was not my intention to sell a clasp with a replaced pin!!

I myself a bit shocked when I read this now!!

I would not have noticed because the color goes very well together!!

And Im not a specialist for Combat Clasp's!

I will of course reduce the clasp ....what would be an fair price?

          kind regards
          Thomas

It seems obvious when pointed out. Of course my untrained eyes missed it.

Is this for certain a replaced pin? Could the foot (or the pin itself) have been bent at some point causing the foot to come into contact at a different location on the back of the clasp? If it has been replaced it is very well matched to the badge.

Difficult for me to really tell.

                    Regards,
                    Eric

Well anything is possible. But in my opinion, not only is the pin something NEVER seen before on this type of AGMuK clasp, but the tension foot location is different. Not only that, but the shape of the mark for the tension foot is a different size, so how can that be explained?

So its not just a matter of 1 thing being wrong, its a combination of 3. Again, anything is possible but when you have 3 aspects of a pin that is not correct, its hard to not pay attention to that IMO.

Jimmy, you of all people should know that its not hard to match finishes to replacement pieces. The pin is a good match to JFS, just fyi.

                          Tom,

Didn't notice the different shapes of the foot mark on the first go around.

Still a very nice looking CCC!

                          Cheers,
                          Eric

Maybe period replaced so the pin has aged at the same pace as the badge?

I would disagree with this statement. If this were the case, the mark closest to the hinge would be the deeper of the two marks because it is closer to the pivot point, (pin). Without making the bottom piece longer, there is physically no way the second mark could be imprinted deeper into the badge.
