Just bought this and I think I may have made a mistake. Is this clasp bad, possibley a "classic fake"?

I would say bad

The leafs or sprigs look quite soft, with poor detail. To me it looks similar to this one http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/FORU...ghlight=fluted

I am not an expert though. So I'd wait for a few others to chime in..

Thanks for that link Rose, I found other ones too.

Just finished sending a polite email to Blackcross to cancel my order and will call and put a stop payment on my Visa tomorrow if need be.

Everything is fine guys. Janet replied to my Email very promptly to say she was sorry for the situation and that my purchase was cancellled. As she said, they bought it on good faith from a reputable source but sometimes these things happen, even to a militaria site as awesome as Blackcross.

I immediately jumped on this clasp (not in the repo section) knowing how quickly things sell on BC and did not want to miss out, as to my mind anything vetted and offered by BC must be genuine. Just goes to show one can never be too careful.

Pointed out to them the history of this classic fake and it was quickly removed form their inventory. It's a great site and I will continue to deal with them in future.

For the time being one can still access the link I posted and see the clasp in question.
