Heck, I thought I had really accomplished something by negotiating him down that low! I do believe he knew he was selling fakes but he certainly won't admit to it!

Also....my Go Cards signature is definitley for the University of Louisville...UL School of Business, class of '89!!

We'll, I'll go off topic and most of the rest won't be interested in our banter... you and I really shouldn't be speaking during basketball season! Even with Rick P as your coach!

Ya know what's really bad - I'm a UK grad like most of my family so of course I bleed blue, but my wife is a Louisville grad. There truly are some frosty evenings around our house (and it ain't from the weather in FL!) this time of year, especially when UK and U of L are playing!

      GO BIG BLUE!

      Best regards,
      Greg

There was a time that I was a bit skittish when UL was playing UK, but recently, I have really enjoyed it!!

OK bud, your day will come next time! I guess we better quite while everyone else can still stand us. Though if UK *has* to lose, it's maybe not so bad losing to Pitino! Of course, I support U of L against anyone other than Kentucky, because I was born in Louisville (I just don't admit it to many!).

          Best regards,
          Greg

War of the Worlds is what this dealer used to call his buisness believe he is out of Chicago. He does not discriminate the good from the bad. I have purchased good items from him but as soon as I wanted an exchange on some PAB's he got angry threatened me and my "expert" with legal action. Then he "banned"me from buying from him again HA. Stay away is the best advice.

Old thread but thought I'd chime in nonetheless. I put Tony Caliendo's name in the search bar to see if I am not alone.

When I was in high school and college and shortly afterwards in the early 1990's, I made about three trips up to Tony Caliendo's shop. (I am originally from the Chicago suburbs). On those trips I tried to be cautious and went with an older, more experienced collector friend so that I wasn't going it alone and had someone with more knowledge than me whose expertise I could lean on. Each trip was exciting to this (then) young collector and I bought a fair amount of stuff and spent a good amount of money for those days and for what my meager budget would allow.

Well, of all the items I bought over the course of those trips I eventually discovered that over half were FAKE. Floch gold wound badge, Floch KVK I, a repop PAB with JFS maker mark, repop Heer collar tabs with pink waffenfarbe, etc. I could go on as I keep a meticulous inventory of everything I buy with purchase price, date, and who I bought it from but you get the idea.

I even traded him some nice original items of mine plus cash for an S&L DKiG. Back in the 1990's I didn't know about the controversy surrounding them and I think few did. That's one item that I could somewhat think he didn't know either, if not for all the other junk he sold me. Therefore, I think he probably did.

This old bugger is still at it. Shamelessly set up at every SOS like some of the other usual suspects.
