    UnNumbered JFS Panzer Assault Badge

I've gone through most of the JFS PAB posts that I could locate, and while understanding that the general consensus is there were no Plain/Basic JFS Hallmarked PABs, I have yet to find an image of the fakes that are alluded to... I have the following badge, and would appreciate opinions one way or another on the potential originality of the badge, and if a fake, when and were was it done if known? It was sold to me as an "Original", and thought to be so by those that have seen it to date.
    Thank you, Rich

The catch doesn't look like a JFS catch to me.

I am sorry to say that the whole badge is bogus. As you said, there are no genuine regular JFS PABs. Btw, the first eagle on a PAB with feathers in the neck.

        Die Flaw?

It looks to me as though there is some sort of die flaw running right up the right hand centre of the badge front. Looks like a perfect line right up the badge. Are there any other known fakes out there with these types of flaws?

Flat backed JFS PABs, showing up since the last 2-3 years, funny design features (how thick is that gunbarrel ?)

          Naw, I don´t think so.

            RelicHunter,

Well spotted. All fakes of this JFS PAB kind seem to have this flaw. I have two others of those in my files, both have this flaw. Also the little one on the reverse that looks like a ding in the 9 o´clock position.
            Cheers, Frank

                Just an observation...

But the eagle's head on this badge is totally different from any on the numbered badges, as well as different from the eagle on the JFS IAB's.
With the onslaught of these fake PAB's and fake GAB's (un-numbered) with bogus JFS maker marks, I wonder if the fakers chose it as an easy mark to reproduce, without paying any other attention to the reality of the situation!
