I found the source searching for the name "carl sieder".

Yes, I think that the tag with SIEDLER instead of SIEDER is very strange.

And you can search for CARL SIEDER or SIEDER here in the forum, it is very interesting.

If CARL SIEDER is really the maker, it is Austrian made, like Souval.

They are exactly the same except for the different color backing. I am not sure what PAB collector is looking at. If you look at the two originals in the group referred to above those two are different from each other as well. I can guarantee more than one firm manufactured these patches.

The backing material on the obverse, stitching, cording etc; do not conform to any documented original Sniper badges.

They are however, common German made reproductions, 100%.

These come in to a local Militaria shop all the time, and are sold as reproductions.

The only thing these do, is make the mine field larger....

For what it's worth, I agree with this statement. Though, I thought these originated from HSC in France...I first saw these at the SOS back in 2006/7.

The stitching above they eye is staright in the one from m. Lippl, where as the stitching on the other one is "breaking up in the air".
This is a difference I did notice.

Havn't been looking that much, but that one cought my eyes.
