Correct me if I am wrong but I think German SS vets are not able to get German Government pensions or assistance. Non German SS must get nothing either. I think this is one way they raise money for their Vets.

As I remember, my Spiess was not able to get any pension time from 38 when he joined to September 1, 39 when the war began. All of his war time was credited to his Bundeswehr pension. His wife was always ticked about the lack of the additional year +, but he took it in stride.
