    RK GAB for review

    Hello everyone,
just got an unmarked gab that i identified as a Rudolf Karneth, my concern is the rear side where the details of the cut are very crude!
    Is the badge right?
    Many thanks,
    Stefano

Guys, thanks for the feedback. Can please you tell me some little more about it?
It is just because of the bad cut details or maybe some other trouble with catch and hinge? It was pretty convincing on front...

Thanks again Eddie, the missing line on the leaf is clear enough.
I was not informed of repros with the ball hinge... well good to know.
Hummm so many pretty good fakes around, ah?
                    Cheers,
                    Stefano

                      Ciao Stefano,

I can only agree with the others, this is a Staegemeir reproduction. They are well made and with pics its hard to be sure. But it is good to know that when you get such a badge in hand, there are certain signs that you yourself got that something just wasn't quite right with it. The texture of Staegemeir fakes, the finishes and the differences in reverse hardware are all hard to see on pics, but in hand you can tell something is just off with them.

                      Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

That's correct Tom, even without any confidence in knowledge, i kind of had a bad feeling since the beginning...
                        Well, another knot to remember.
                        Many thanks,
                        Stefano
