Thoughts on this Wiedmann PAB badge would be greatly appreciated. The badge itself is not magnetic; however, the pin and catch assembly are. Also, pin is sharp (point) at end. Please let me know if you need additional photos. And, thank you !!

Wiedmann PAB - opinions

Hi Niche,
Firstly, this is a GAB, not a PAB
Looks like a nice original Weidmann in my opinion. Typical 1-cutout wing and looks to be typical hardware. Magnetic is a bit of surprise because Frank mentions the hardware as "tombak", which is really just brass. HOwever, brass is non-magnetic. Your hardware is steel and looks fine though and Weidmann definately used steel hardware on their IABs, so no worries IMO.
TomIf it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a littleNew Book - The German Close Combat Clasp of World War II

Interestingly enough these were initially called pionier-sturmabzeichen. You will occassionaly see them referenced as such in some documents.
This particular badge looks fine, IMO.-Calvin Hall, repressed Appalachian American.
Desperately seeking a Juncker Knights Cross ribbon loop and well used Knights Cross ribbon!!!
