          Hi Gary......

......IMO save your money. Hinge is incorrect, details too soft, and it looks like a casting.

The hinge and the reverse looks fine to me, IMO original.

                  Hi Gary

The reverse looks like it has been repainted or refinished. It gives the impression of textured areas that look like a casting.
Originals usually have a matt silver finish and not always finished on the reverse. IMO the finish does not look original to the badge, but areas such as the catch look too good to be a fake. The hinge does look similar to originals, except usually more inserted into the badge..

Can we see a better pic of the eagle and the end of the rifle butt

I can see why others are wary.

Have you tried acetone on the finish ?

                  cheers
                  Graeme

I have to agree with Graeme, the finnish on this badge looks very odd. It could be so thick on the front that its making the eagles details look soft, also it could be giving the reverse a cast look just by the way the finnish was applied. I wouldn't label it as fake just yet, first I'd like to know the results of an acetone test.

                    Regards
                    Mike

I agree with Graeme as well. A badge that at best is refinished.
Here is what i´d expect from a FCL with it´s original finish intact.

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

                            Hi,

Thanks for all of the comments. I will post better pictures a little later. I have always wondered about the finish on this badge as it appears "chromed". I had never seen a badge with this type of finish before and, when I bought it, thought it might have neen intended for wear on a parade/dress uniform (like the US military has for the Honor Guards).
