    IAB in silver maker 'JFS'

Hi, I'm looking at a silver grade IAB currently for sale on a local site, the seller lists it as a good quality reproduction badge with a makers mark of 'JFS'. I know there is a maker of that name but did he produce any Silver IAB's? Would a repro be marked as such, unfortunately I can't get a picture of the reverse. As I'm new to this site I don't know how to post any pictures although I have a couple if someone can tell me how.
    Any help appreciated, thanks, TC.

    JFS badge

    Hi,

Please do a search on this forum and you will find originals and what they should look like. You can also look at Gailen Davids site for good original ones to compare with. JFS for sure made silver IABs and they do match the bronze. The silver IAB is however more rare.

Thanks for all your help, I'm concerned about the vertical strip of acorns/nuts at the bottom, the picture I have isn't very clear and they look a bit messy, perhaps the badge is slightly damaged. I might take a gamble as it is for sale at a very reasonable price, at least I won't get burnt.

          But Tony...

... why take a gamble at all? This badge is usually available for $125.00, or less. With some patience, you will find a real one and probably less than $100 USD. Just a thought...

Thanks Rick, I know it seems strange, but the value on this is less than $15 USD. I've had some other good buys here in NZ from people who have had things lying around and don't know what they've got,so it's worth a look. Besides, it'll end up as a toy for my kids anyway. I'm not intersted in collecting non-originals but have to take a chance for that value.
            Cheers...TC
