    IAB Bronze.
Just found this one with an unusual back. Never seen that before.

      Hi Peter,

That indeed a strange example. Not only because of the semi-hollow reverse but also because of the eagles design. Look at the eagles head. Never seen anything like it. Based upon the detailing and finish however it a good one IMO.

      Any ideas Roman?

I have the same badge & I’ve been trying to identify it for a long time.

              Hi Roman,

              Also a nice one.

I think you should change your name from Roman to Mrs IAB.

Your just a walking IAB encyclopaedia and better than any book ever published on the subject

Roman while your at it, any thoughts on this one. Bought it a while ago because it was rather uncommon. The reverse features the typical small block hinge that is sunk in to the badge very nicely done. The catch is sitting on a half oval catchplate in a far to big cut out area and just looks amateurish.

                      Yep thats it

How does the reverse look on yours.

My quess would be less sophisticated because yours is a later version. Just testing my finish theory here.

                        Hi Philippe,

Unfortunatly my wife likes this badges less than me & that is why I didn't have
an opotunity to post the reverse.

Personaly I think that the reverse of this badge is very interesting. Maybe it could help us to identify the manufacturer of the badges.

Philippe, have you ever seen the same on the PAB?

                              Hi Roman,

Interesting is the least you can say

As I suspected your first IAB IMO is later war. The top crimp and also the hinge is very similar two one of the two crimped SC Zimmermann PAB as featured in this thread:

                              http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...zimmermann+pAB

The catch attachment is not like anything I have ever seen. Are the two "half moon" shaped areas crimps or just recessed areas. If it was only one recessed area it would be consistent with the half moon shaped area on my badge.

The second badge features the same block hinge as on mine and probably the same catch but here it is sitting in a rectangular frame with raised borders.

It's realy amazing to see how frequently they changes set-ups.
