    Panzer Assault Badge in zinc

    Hi all,

I'ld like to show you my second PAB. Bought on ebay for 40 euros, shipping included ! It's a middle late war badge in zinc.

There's no marking. Dou you have an idea about the maker and its value ?

    Thanks.

    Regards.

The maker of your badge is unknown but it's called a third pattern seven wheeler by PAB collectors. These are fairly hard to find but in this condition I would say it would fall in the 150 to 200 euro catagory.

For 40 euros, it was a good deal!

Hermann Wernstein uses similar hardware on his WB's along with other variation for catch the'?' hook style....

            Hi Chris

Could you post one that is similar, I only seem to recall the small block hinge and wide pin that wrapped around it for L/17 marked badges

Nice badge by the way. You might want to think about treating it with some vasoline as it looks a little dusty in places.

            cheers
            Graeme

It is not mid war, but a very late war 7wheeler

At 40 euro not bad indeed.
              Kind regards,
              Giel

                Hi Graeme,

I don't have the same set up, i'm still looking...Although i have the hook variation for catch. I don't know how scarce is for others awards, i have seen also this set up on sport badges by Wernstein, but for WB's is rare....
Only two i have seen so far mine and another one in a German collection in silver grade...enjoy

PS: If you want some 3D shots let me know...

Thanks for posting Chris, great looking badge with set up I have not seen on L/17 wound.

I only recall seeing the Wernstein sports badges with the thick square wire catches, even though they might have similar hinges to what you have posted..I will have a search around when time...

                    thanks again

Looks like a very late war badge with a value of around $75.00.
