As Eraser said, it looks a so called deformed leaf.

Unknown Maker, known as the 'Deformed Leaf' type!
            Cheers, Steve

              Hi,

Does the hinge, pin and catch setup look like the unknown maker that was possibly attributed to Wernstein?

              Regards

              Steve

                Steve,

It doesn't look like the Wernstein/Jena - Unknown Maker set up IMO mate!
                Cheers, Steve

                    Hi John.....

......One of my favorite designs the 'deformed leaf'. The one you are presenting looks as if there was a slippage of the die when made. Another unusual item about it is the type of catch. I don't believe I have seen one yet with that style of flat-wire catch; soldered directly(it looks like it is from your images) to the badge. I'd like to see that one(or another like it) in-hand.

                    So far it looks ok.

Indeed Bruce, the catch looks to have had a circular catch plate trimmed down IMO. Stewy

                          Hi John

The set up on your badge is a recognised set up for this unknown maker. The catch is very similar to catches seen on some Deumer badges, and different from the catch seen on the so called Wernstein IAB.

It would be nice for you to post a straight on reverse pic if possible.

Regards price, you might find it useful to check out the estand or a couple of the main dealers for an idea,

                          regards
                          Graeme

Yes, that's an interesting flat wire catch for this type! But all ok IMO!
                              Cheers, Steve
