    Thomas,

To me they are not similar both in the obverse and reverse. The obverse on mine is very detailed, whilst the reverse is semi hollow and set up for 4 rivets.

    Regards

      Hi Steve,

Please look again. They are not only similar, they are identical and clearly all the same fake. Even down to the double struck inner wreath rim on the left side of the badge.

Don't be thrown off by good detailing, fakes have been made with better materials and better details than originals for decades. The best AGMuK and F&BL CCC fakes have better detail than original CCCs!

              What......

......Tom and Stewy are saying about the IAB in question is absolutely correct. It is a FAKE that has been artificially 'distressed' to make it seem battle-worn. Shameful behavior of the lowest sort. Stay away from that crap. If one looks objectively at that badge you can see that the rivets are part of the hinge.....ugly badge!

The badge Stewy shows is what you want to look for.

Some of you guys need to spend some time in the FAKES gallery. These junk badges are there. Go and familiarize yourself with them........for a change.

Thanks for all of your help and replies.

I do take a little exception to this:

I ask questions to give me confirmation that a badge is good, or indeed bad. It must be lovely to have all of that knowledge neatly stored in your head.

Proof of the pudding, here are some of the IAb threads that I have started with an assumption and wanting confimation:

                    Hi Steve......

                    ......

You can read so that's a plus. However, deciphering American English doesn't seem to be your strong suit....now does it mate?

I said above that one should look at the FAKES galleries and learn from what is there, so as to make COMPARATIVE analysis a bit easier on yourself.

Sorry if you don't care for constructive criticism....I hope you get over it. I have spent hours over there at the FAKES gallery. Time and time again. I simply cannot keep all that info in my head, but at times, certain FAKES are pretty hard to miss. Especially when they involve a pretty uncommon variant.

Sorry that the bad news about the FAKE you posted squashed you.

                    Regards,
                    Bruce

                      Hehe, ideed,

i took one look at the pics and knew who the dealer is.

He's a great dealer but those pics are a real pain.

                        Bruce,

I converse with many Americans and I can honestly say that I have never encountered someone quite as rude as yourself.

English is English however it is read and I fail to see how your answers can be construed as civil. Sarcastic yes, pious yes, but civil no.

Yes the badge in question has been deemed a fake, and no I am not squashed. Watching your wife give birth to your dead son squashes you....a cheap IAB does not.

I do not wish to get into a cock fight with you, but I emplore you not to bother writing in one of my threads again.

                          Steve......

......First off, I've seen more than my fair share of death along the way, including Family and Friends, and I do not know why you made the above remark.

......If you don't like civil answers(which the very first was) don't ask for opinions.

If you want someone else to do your homework for you.....keep posting. I'm sure you'll find somebody willing. Please do not use the tired old excuse of being insulted by a supposed lack of someone's incivility as a mask to hide behind.

This is uncivil, insulting and, by your definition...rude:

                          you threw this rock.

Save your accusations for your reflection.

                              Hello Steve

I agree with the others that this one is a fake. The obverse design has been used with several different reverse and hardware set ups. As shown with a screwback, mm GWL and like this one with the 4 rivet set up.

If you compare yours to mine, you will see the differences between the original and the fake.

                              Best Regards, fischer
