Many thanks for all of your comments!
Picked up yesterday at a local gun show for a very reasonable price.

I've actually never had an Assmann 1.1.1 in hand. From the picture, it seemed like the hinge looked like the top picture, whereas I was expecting a straight hinge directly into the recess.

        Can someone clear this up?

          Hi Chad,

I think what you are seeing is the edge of the recess. Here is mine for comparison

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Yea, I see it now. It was a combination of the edge of the recess and excess solder that made me think there was a flange. Thanks Tom

Both are really nice examples. The PAB seems to be in great condition as well.

                      Thanks Rylan,
I would possibly have bought a few more pieces from him, except he wanted $300.00, that's all I had in my pocket, to the dollar.

Thanks for the additional pictures. I can definitely see the straight hinge in that picture! Looks textbook to me

My apologies to everyone, as my profile is gone, as well as all connections to any past posts and all PM's, this post is the only way that I can think of to reclaim my connection to past posts or threads.
