    Army Flak Badge

Hello to you all from a rather chilly Scotland!

I've been interested in the German side of WW2 for some time now so was very glad to find this forum! - I look forward to chatting with you all and perhaps purchasing some of the very interesting items on the e-stand.

Anyhow, sorry to make my first post about something that has been done and re-done and done again but I have a Flak Badge...it's not the LW one but it is WH Wien (warning bells!).

To my totally untrained eye it doesn't look fake. However, the name and the style of pin suggests to me it is. It's somewhat dirty but there are glimmers of a brass type of material poking through...anyhow here are some pics...

Your thoughts would be most apprechiated...

Very soft detail, among other issues...Not an Original IMHO!

Oh well, I thought it was too good to be true! I think I'll etch "fake" on the back and pop it in a box for one of my decendants to find in years to come Thanks for your help

Agreed & Welcome mate! BY the way just for next time Army War badges like this one are best being listed in the Heer/SS badge section on the site!
              Cheers, Steve

                Greetings Levon......

......I agree with the other gents that this is a bad badge. The first thing that jumps out is the pin, hinge and clasp assembly......you will not see this type of set-up on genuine 3rd reich badges.

In the future it would be better to submit straight on images for evaluation.

Welcome to the mine field of TR collecting, and to this Forum.

And we have a excellent search function to assist you in your desire to determine authenticity of questionable items.
