I think it's a stretch to call it mint but it is a very nice original IMO.

        Hi Christof......

......This badge is a FAKE. Take a good look at the hinge area. Not good. Do a search for HA in this forum and compare. It will save you some money if you do.

Hi Bruce, I looked at the hinge mate and didn't see it...Can you just explain a little further so I can learn something here, what did I miss? Is there anything else that gives it away as well mate?
          Cheers, Steve

Good catch Bruce. Clearly not the proper crimping for a good Aurich. Not really a crimp at all.

and from AS - IMHO this is Original but the catch on the reverse appears to be a strange material/colour from one angle, though it doesn't look replaced to me. Personally, I would potentially buy this one out of these three.

and from FFL 43 - IMHO, this may be original but the reverse hardware has problems especially around the hinge and catch, perhaps reattached IMHO.

Mate, these are just my opinions (above, marked in red) but I have now been very cautious and looked as carefully as I can...I hope this helps somewhat and that others also contribute and help you with these as well. Good luck with it mate, Steve.

P.S. I think Barry Turk will allow you to return a badge if you buy it and find after receiving it that it's a fake...when you buy and it arrives you can take pics and put it up here on the site to get opinions then as well.

Barry and his staff at eMedals are some of the best people in this hobby. If there is any problems with their inventory, or a purchase you have made, they will quickly resolve the problem.

One should look outside the box here.

What happened to the crimp is a mystery for me as well here. Most likely the hinge was repaired afterwards, or the factory crimp failed and they filled the hole up with solder. What ever happened, it has been very nicely done. Next to that, we are looking at a textbook original Aurich.
                              Kind regards,
                              Giel
