The medal is original, but when it was mounted on this bar is anyone's guess, especially as the bar has been extended quite crudely at some point in time.

                  Hello J C Gray.
Thanks yes i asked the dealer the same question and it was done at some point in the war,i have seen several medalbars that looks to be extended far worse than this one and i get lifetime garantie on it but thanks very much for your answer.
                  Kind Regards

Well I can also share the oppinion that the medal is good. Regarding to the medal bar I cannot say anything.

                    Cheers Pzb14

Like the other say the medal looks ok but I think the bar is a put-together or at best the ss and the party LS medals swaped in after removing the orginals.

Have a look at how the other four medals on the bar are place you will see they all line up on the bottom while the ss and NLS do not match up.

Thanks for all your comments and yes i can also see that they not are in the same position as the others but are they not bigger then the others, well i am no expert but i am happy for it is original medals anyway and i have seen other medalbars that for sure are put together in many bad wayes and look much more ugly then this but many thanks for your help guys
                        Kind Regards

Well the medals are good but I think the SS isn't right on that bar. It doesn't make sense that they would split the ribbon like this and then sew it up with black thread.... perhaps im a bit paranoid about it but I would tend to believe that a heer service medal used to hang in that possition. Also as its pointed out they were put on later based on how much lower they hang. I have a bar that has had an ek2 added later but its definatly period. This may be a totally legit bar but as long as your comfortable with it then go for it! You are the only one who has to be happy with whats in your collection! Matt

Why are all the medals sewen up then and how can i find out of its maybe put together, and why could it not have been done during that time what indicates that its not a period medalbar i am here to learn so please help me to understand it "Thanks"
                            Kind Regards

                              Hello,
Its very common to see the medals themselves sewn up tight so they don't jiggle. I just find it odd that the tailor would use black thread on the ribbon itself. Most would also try to hide their stitches as well. Seems like they did a great job on all of the others except for the SS medal and ribbon. Now I understand you can see the thread that holds the medals tight to the bar, but im talking about where the ribbon is stitched to the bar. Again it could be a lefit bar, but seems like a lot of different awards to be on a bar like this. Odd combo with the political medal and the SS medal to be on the same bar. Not an impossibility just and odd combo in my opinion. Matt
