    How to clean the IAB

    Hello collectors,

In my collection of IAB's I have some wich are a little spotted to black, also there is some yellowing to the silver finish, if this is entairly I would'nt care but it's partial, so maybe there are some people who know how to clean.

I hope for an quick answer regards Heat.

    Hi,

    please post some pictures.

The yellow traces you are talking about could be the remainings of the original protection varnish "Zaponlack" which gets a yellow touch during the time.

That would be something i would never clean because it gives imo a badge a special feeling.
    Best regards, Andreas

              Hi,

if you really want to do it i would use soap and water. That can remove dirt.

Stay away from chemical cleaners for silver and so on.
              Best regards, Andreas

Thanks for reply and tips, the water and soap is imo also the best option, I didn't want to polish or something but sometimes you feel that they sticky from all the grease and dirt from other collectors.
My RSS hade some yellowing, it looked like grease, but I left it this way.
You all have right in the way of cleaning them with chemicals, they ruin the badge.
I did use Haggerty or something for jewellery, but after the bath in this subtance, it was nice, but after a week the whole badge surface began to bubble up an fell down, and that from my FLL

Again thank you all for the reply,
                  Regards Heat
