    New IAB/PAB

Hello everyone, during the weekend we had a military show here in Milano.
It was not bad this time and i was able to get few new badges

The first one should be an unmarked Ernest Muller IAB (i studied a little bit)

The second one is a zink PAB marked Wurster.

I got also an interesting IAB L/51 marked, but the camera decided to stop working... i'll try to take picture later on.

    Hope you like it.
    Cheers,
    Stefano

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                  Thanks a lot Graeme.
I finally managed to take a couple of shots of the L/51 IAB. I decided to take the badge even with a couple of evident corrosion spot on front... i guess it's not so common and i never had one of those before. I really like the hardware side with all the little bubbles, i think it's still an interesting badge.

I would like to have your opinion on this point, is there any way to clean or stop such corrosion that i believe is coming out from the zinc base?

                  Many thanks,
                  Stefano

Thanks Giel, i have to say that i recently got the book on the Infantry Assualt Badge/Sascha Weber and i find it as an incredible reference.
Spending some money and a little time studying, well it's really a good investment
                        Cheers,
                        Stefano

                          Hi Stefano

I would coat it in vasoline for 24 hrs and then wipe off gently. A lot of guys use this method to stop "zinc pest" and give back some life to their badges.

Maybe a search on vasoline will give some before and after examples for you to check out...

                          regards
                          Graeme

                            Hi Graeme,
i did a search on the topic and it looks like a common solution for the problem.
I will look for some vasoline and have a try with this badge. I will eventually post some picture afterthat, it could be interesting.
                            Cheers,
                            Stefano
