Souval GAB - Angular R.S. - Opinions Please

Thought I would show off this badge and get some opinions. Based on my references, this is one of the good ones and less common than the other R.S design. Did I get that right?

Understand that catches on these badges did not hold up too well over time, but this one looks original to the badge.

Nice badge Jeff. Is that a die flaw across the neck? Is that typical for these?

              Hi Harry, thanks.

Here is close-up of the area. Looks like a die flaw both under loupe and in photo.

Be careful with Souval productions, as I said in another post, it's probably an excellent copy struck by Rudolf Souval of Vienna in the 1970s and 1980s using original dies. So, badges are always very nice...
This fakes are often (always...) maker marked with L43, L/58 or R.S....

Souval has strucked with ORIGINAL DIES... so badges always looks fine...
It's just my advice, I don't buy Souval.

                      A good one.
The post-war Souvals do have a different catch.
See Frank Heukemes book about the GAB.

yes, fine indeed. The fear of Souval badges has mostly passed due to findings, research and documentation.

With all that excess solder around the hinge, what rules out it initially featured the typical "souval"-hinge

                            cheers
