    APB and CCC?

    Hello Everybody,

I stumbled upon this picture and I was a little bit confused. The SS man in the picture is wearing an anti-partisan badge and a close combat clasp. I always thought that a soldier could only be awarded one of them two. Now could it be that he was awarded his CCC for actions not related to his anti partisan actions and that he was awarded his APB later while fighting partisans?

      Hi Jorn,

Indeed an interesting combination, but in my opinion totally acceptable to have been awarded both. He could have definately been awarded the bronze CCC in 1943 or early 1944 before the anitipartisan badge was even created. Even after it was created, soldiers could still rack up days toward the CCC AS LONG AS THE ACTION WAS A FRONT LINE ACTION. Remember that one of the reasons the antipartisan badge was created was to ensure that the CCC was awarded solely for action at the front and a true combat decoration. If he wasn't at the front, any combat day would be counted toward the antipartisan badge rather than the CCC.
