In my opinion, this is not period original.

Wrong obverse for an FLL, wrong catch for an FLL, pin incorrect, backplate is held there with no effective crimping..........

                    Hi Duane,

Can only agree with the others, a poor reproduction of an FLL clasp. This is one of the most common types of fakes around, you can find them at shows all over. This is shown as Reproduction #8 in the CCC book, and I am pretty sure I remember you buying a copy of it, didn't you Duane?

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                        a

Tom , I posted this for a friend who bought it before I could give my oppinion. I thought it was bad because of the location of the makers mark, the round instead of oval catch base and the end of the bayonet handle. Glad you agree. Your book is fantastic and so are the people on here that spend a lot of time so they dont get burnt. The owner of this medal unfortunatly took the reputation of the dealer as a guarantee instead of looking at the piece itself.
