      Hello,

      IMO a modern copy.

Here are two good zinc RKs for comparison.

Clever, to compare a zink example to a tombac one....

IMO your badge is neither period tombak nor zinc.
                Let´s see what others think...

Yes, I am waiting for some proof opinions, not "I think", "I guess", "my gut tells me"... - this helps nobody

All you have to do to get your proof is compare the pics of the original RKs to your badge.

Just to give you a few points to look for:

                    - shape of eagle´s head
                    - cutouts
                    - flaw at bayonet handle
                    - hardware

A little work on your side wouldn´t hurt. It helps your learning curve.

it's a well known fake in the world of GAB collectors I'm afraid. That's the story of these days. If you're not a dedicated GAB collector these badges looks very well acceptable but in fact they are just more and more clever made fakes that -lucky enough- are followed close by real GAB addicted experts.

Sorry to say, a known fake. Very well made though.
                        Cheers, Frank
