This final badge is obviously not Third Reich but looks Yugoslavian to me, but i've not been able to trace it.

All the TR badges are very poor fakes. One is even a fake of a fake post war Souval badge. I don't know about the last badge but if it came with the rest it would go in the trash with the rest.

Yes, the TR badges are bad fakes (very bad fakes) I'm guessing the Hindenburg Cross is original

I agree but i'm i'm more familiar with the refined Kriegsmarine badges. Reading books like Tucker's guide and handling them, you realise that the Heer badges were sometimes much more rugged than their KM and Lw counterparts.

Thanks, everyone. I thought as much but decided to ask for other opinions.

I'll run away from them !

For future ref, you can usually tell a souval by the catch. Like on this one, souval often used the catch that is essentially a piece of metal with a little bit cut and bent to form a catch. Not used on TR badges.

                          Hi UK......

                          ......
the Heer badges were sometimes much more rugged than their KM and Lw counterparts.
That statement isn't correct, in my opinion. You may only be familiar with some of the later-war Heer badges that will have a more rugged appearance, but that is he exception.....not the rule.

In point of fact there are rugged appearing badges for ALL 3 military branches of the third reich.

Probably the ugly Hymens that caught you're attention. Not the most handsome of badges, but certainly not to be considered shoddily made.

well the ones i've seen - even those in reference books - don't seem to have the
style of the KM awards, but i haven't as much experience with them.

The same collection as these medals also had an " original " TR period camouflage hooded jacket. Looked like it'd just fallen off a ship from Thailand. The guy wasn't a crooked dealer, just had a poor eye or just too gullible.
