Silver Close Combat Clasp - Opinions?

Hi guys – about 10 years ago whilst a university student I started collecting some German militaria. About 8 years ago I stopped collecting due to other interests and have been out of the hobby since. I have now dug up the old collection and am going through the items I bought some 8-10 years ago. As I was not very educated and on a very tight budget back then, I have no doubt some of the items I purchased on the cheap are fake, so, it’s time to put them to you all for scrutiny!

I have this silver Close Combat Clasp, marked “F&BL”.

I seem to recall that this was an ebay auction (back in the day when you could actually pick some stuff up there), but I am not kidding myself that this one is real, and won't be dissapointed if it is not. That said, I welcome your opinions as well as what it may (or may not) be worth.

    Many thanks!

Very common reproduction sorry. If you search F&BL here you will find loads of originals to compare

      Hi Brad......

      ......Welcome to the forums.

      Patrick
is correct. On the CCC you display, the maker's-mark should be backward and upside down. We also have a excellent search function at the top of the page that can help in your inquiries.

          Hi Brad,

Can only agree with the others, a very common reproduction. Don't feel bad though, it is very well made and has fooled many collectors in the past.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

I have only one in bronze and it is a Juncker.
Before this forum, I was burned also.
Before I purchased the Juncker, I studied all threads I could find on this site.
From that education, I remembered that your clasp mm should be
upside down. I like to give the items here my own opinion before I scroll down
                to see the experts opinon.
I was right this time. Study this site as much as you can. For one truly interested in this stuff, it is marvelous fun. John

Many thanks to all for their educated opinions. I am not too dissapointed that this one is a reproduction - I bought it reasonably cheaply way back when so I didn't hold too much hope

(Apologies as well for not doing a thorough search of the site before posting this one here - I am a bit of a newbie on the site).

                  Thanks again!
