    Silver CCC AGMUK any good?

My friend has this for sale a Silver CCC AGMUK any good? I have Toms book but I think I'm blinded by my friendship. I'm sorry the pictures are not better.

      Hi Dennis,

I have a feeling this is a fake. The crimping of the backplate doesn't match up to the hardware, but I suppose it could be a transitional piece. But the next issue I saw was the "E" in "BERLIN" wasn't complete... with the lower leg missing.

It's obviously hard for me to see the details, as I think the finish is off too, so I am only relying on these signs... I'd have to see more pics to buy in.

          Missing E

You are right I did not see that until I posted the picture. I did look at the badge a lot and did not see that.

You are right not even an E in Berlin. How do I tell my friend? He was very unhappy when I told him his Luft Para badge was a fake. I hate to give him bad news.

                Hi Dennis,

The obverse design should tell you everything you need to know, its the exact same as Reproduction #7, page 286. Instead of FLL though, they marked the badge with an AGMuK mark. The fakers can often leave off a fake maker mark or switch it up a bit in the reverse setup, but more often than not they will use the same fake obverse design making them easy to spot if you know what all original obverses look like.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little
