Hi guys,



I got this one lately and now I was wondering, if the finish is the plated one, or if it is the silver wash? Just looked in the book, but the surface looks a little grainy, so I´m not really sure. I just like to know before I start the "oily" conservation procedure...

Hi Daniel,

Looks like plating to me. The way the finish is a bit bubble and wavy in the eagles wings is typical of a plated finish rather than a wash type of finish.

Pics of the back might help to confirm that.
