Correct me if I am wrong Yuri, but I think you are refering to the top hook? I have an article from the early 90s that say those with the top hook are not original. I believe this article is incorrect. The article does not have good references, and I have tried for about 2 years now (unsuccesfully) to contact the author regarding this and a few other issues regarding the Nahkampfspange. Manfred Dorr's book shows 2 types of gold presentation CCC, both with a top hook. Also, from an article from the Militaria Magazin (April-Mai 2001), Dorr shows several presentation claps, all with top hooks and all with their award documents. In my opinion, these gold CCCs are not the best looking or best detailed compared to say JFS or Gablonz CCCs, that is the only fault I have with them. These were supposedly made by the Juncker firm, which would make sense to me as Juncker CCCs (bronze & silver clasps) are of poor detail as well.

As Yuri coments across the years this type of clasp has been catalogued as copy/fake with no know proofs just with the explanation that has not been seen earlier, but I have the incredible luck to see two of this, one is in possesion of a friend and comes directly from one of the original 14 recipients from the first Hitler made ceremony and the other is still in the hands of his winner and both are acompained with documents and photos incluiding some from the party after the award with Hitler.
AngelLooking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

I disagree Yuri.
Both Niemann & Forman cite this piece (center rivet & top hook) as one of the actual presentation pieces awarded by either Hitler or Himmler. Less than 100 examples and theorized as having been made by Juncker. I looked at this earlier and saw no problems with it. Pieter confirmed it for me with his initial post. There's quite good pix of the award in Forman's Guide (3. edition) and it matches this piece quite nicely.
While there is an abundance of Gold CCC awards floating around, I can only remember one occassion that a piece matching this was sold by Detlev in the last 6 years. I believe the price was 6500- or so....
