    Close Combar Bars

    Dear fellow collectors:

I would like to hear your comments on these two bars:

    1) the first one is a CCB in Gold, Feinzink, with maker FLL.

    Height:25,86mm, Width:96,69mm, Weight: 37,0 Gramms

    2) the second bar is in Gold, too, CBB in Gold, Feinzink, without maker's markings.

    Height: 26,10mm, Width: 96,56mm, Weight: 29,2 Gramm

Which one do you like best and which one would you like to purchase? How much is the value of CCB marked and unmarked today?

Excuse me the many questions, but I couldn't find on this site the exact data of different maker's of CCB in gold.

I am anxiously waiting for your interesting comments.

    Ciao,

    Claudio

    I'll start

    Hello Claudio,

To tell you the truth, I don't like either for the following reasons:

    1. I don't like the heads on either, especially #2.

    2. I don't like the feet of either on the Swastika, lacks detail.

    3. I don't like the bayonet on either, the indentation or swab lacking the detail of an original.

    4. The grenades lack detail, particularly the two ring below the head, as well as the fuse mechanism.

    5. The leaves on the bottom lack detail as well.

I would consider them both to be reproductions. That being said, I can probably now be corrected by the rest of the forum. Anyway, that's my opinion.
    Cheers,

    Bill Moran

      FLL clasp

The frame around the center, on the bottom shouldnt be flush with the top of the leaves, there should be a stepped edge there. The lines between the veins on the oak leaves should be more pronounced. The head of the eagle is to small. The bayonet looks wrong, the blade appears too fat and the handle butt is shaped wrong

Not much to offer on the unmarked, but the bayo and greande look distorted.

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

The FLL badge seems too heavy. All of the ones I have seen are around 33 grams.

          correct's data on FLL CCB

Thank you all for your replies.

However I would like to know with more precision the correct measurements of the FLL clasps: height, width and weight.

Since I believe the FLL are the most common version of CCBs in general, it shouldn't difficult to have standard measurements and to be able to compare the data directly.

It would be also nice to add all this data on the section about CCB on this interesting website. I think that CCBs are one of the most desirable items within III Reich military awards.

I am sure that out there there must be more collectors who can share info on the CCB.

          Thank you!

          Ciao,

          Claudio

P.S.: I have got also the images of the obverse of the two CCBs shown in the first posting. Can somebody help me to post them? Thank you again!

              What about this CCB?

              Dear all,

Here I have another example of CCB in Gold, also a FLL version:

Description of the dealer who is selling this badge: Close Combat Clasp in Gold. Maker marked FLL within 3 circles for, Friedrich Linden, Ludenschield. Badge retains about 80% off the gold finish on the front side, and about as much on the rear.

              Measurements:
Width 97.1 mm, Height 25.9 mm, Weight 35.95 gr

What do you think about it? Anything closer to the first two pieces shown by me.

              Ciao,

              Claudio

Following this thread on Gold CCC. I would like an opinion on this too. Gold or Bronze ??? Any help appreciated.
