    GAB Unknown Maker #12

    Hi guys

Just picked this nice little GAB. Price was right and I really liked the look of the copper base coating showing through the silver finish. Perfectly textbook 1.12.1 from Frank's book, including the long tension foot to the pin, which at first I though might be a replacement as it is pretty loose. However, the pin also has the copper coating under the silver finish. Also notice how the tip was filed down, I like little aspect like this which give badges some nice character even if they aren't mint.

    Thanks.

    Tom

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

Congrats Tom. These are nice awards. Stewy
P.S. as you say someone didn't like the overly long pin

        Hi Tom

Plenty of character in this worn old beast

I think the style of hinge is very cool on this variant.

        congrats

Thanks guys. I have always like the look of the hinge plate on these as well, just another small detail, but speaks of the quality of construction.
